"This program is amazing, and the results have been so rewarding for everyone involved. We've shared so many laughs together, and it's been wonderful knowing we're actively supporting our family member's thinking and communication. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to support a person living with dementia or cognitive decline." Daughter
"Just wanted to let you know how great it has been to be able to do this at home. My husband's health hasn't been the best over the last month, so being able to do the activities when he is feeling up to it has been fantastic. He has a few favourite activities, and some are now enjoyed with the grandkids when they visit. The entire program is wonderful and made even easier by the videos showing us how to get the most out of each activity. We've felt fully supported throughout the program and would, and have, recommended it to others." Wife
Why I Created Dementia ConnectEd™
After a dementia diagnosis, families are often left asking this question.
"What can we do now?
Much of the information families receive focuses on diagnosis, symptoms and planning ahead.
My approach complements this by helping families understand what is still working well, with practical, evidence-based strategies to support thinking, communication, confidence and independence at home.
From Research to Real Life
After successfully running Cognitive Stimulation Therapy groups in Perth, families often asked me how they could recreate the same experience at home. This led to the creation of The ConnectEd Pathway.
Families learn to understand dementia, navigate services and supports, and receive a boutique resource package with high-quality, adult-appropriate materials to use at home. Research also shows that home-based CST can support thinking, communication and help reduce carer stress.
